The men
Emmanuel PERDRIX in charge of the courses of the GCL since 2004 runs 10 professional and versatile gardeners.
Joint missions such as mowing and raking of bunkers are carried out one to seven times a week during periods of shoot.
The greens are shorn every day. Irrigation control and maintenance of the equipment park are also essential tasks to manage the maintenance of the courses.
These different missions are very specific to the maintenance of a golf course where an additional constraint is added during the week and which is the presence of players.
A necessary cohabitation is well understood at the Golf Club of Lyon especially given the fact:
• The grass does not wait to grow to be mowed.
• It is necessary to accept some acoustic nuisances during its course to benefit from zones of play perfectly mown the following course!
• Every effort should be made to ensure that gardeners are not put at risk during their work.

Equipment
Nearly fifteen different lawnmowers, three tractors, one sandblaster, one green roller, three trailers, one sprayer, two blowers make up the bulk of the GOLF CLUB equipment park in Lyon.
Each different play area height requires a specific lawnmower. Between the greens, the greens, the pre rough, rough, fairways, and the departures of the two routes, one quickly understands the reason for this large number of machines.
The total replacement value is estimated at € 2.5 million. A leasing policy over a period of 5 years makes it possible to renew this fleet so that it is operational as often as possible without excessive budgetary constraints.
